two-month research study
Position – Research Assistant
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (in
collaboration with Adolescent Health working group) invites applications for a
two-month research study titled “Research of peer approach in the community
under RKSK (Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Kendra).” The RKSK programme,
established in 2014, aims to provide information, counselling and services to
young people in India. The two main mechanisms through which these are to be
delivered are, at community-level, through peer educators, and at facility
level, through counsellors and health care providers located in dedicated
AFHCs. The present research, supported by UNFPA, aims to review the
implementation of the peer educator component, analyse gaps and strengths, and
draft recommendations for improvement of the programme.
Duration of the Study: 2 months (May not
be at a stretch).

Qualifications: Candidates are required
to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities from a UGC
recognized university (with 55%) and 3-5 years of experience in qualitative
research (pertaining to adolescents and important stakeholders). The candidate
should have necessary research skills of data collection and data entry.
The research will be conducted across
three states- Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Uttarakhand.
Candidates hailing
from these respective states will be given preference. Candidates involved in
data collection in Madhya Pradesh and Uttrakhand, should have a proficiency in
Hindi. Candidates involved in data collection in Tamilnadu, need to have
proficiency in Tamil.
