The PerkinElmer DNA Sequencing Services business provides state of the art DNA/RNA measurement services. We are looking for an innovative Bioinformatician to join our bioinformatics team. This person will work closely with bioinformatics team in the United States , and is responsible for developing bioinformatics tools and pipelines to process and manage Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, as well as other molecular testing data. This person will work closely with the scientific and operations team in both United Stats and India to design, develop and deploy new data processing pipelines, software applications, databases and custom scripts. Additional responsibilities include exploring and/or evaluating state of the art bioinformatics tools, processing clinical testing samples, leading validation data analysis and delivering results to customers.

Basic Qualifications:

Master or PhD degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer sciences or equivalent in Life Sciences discipline

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in bioinformatics in an industrial, academic, or government laboratory

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in building and delivering NGS data analysis pipelines and software applications
Programming skills and proficient in programing languages including Perl/Python, R, SQL and shell scripting

Ability to work independently as well as work with others in a team

Experience in working in a clinical laboratory environment.
