About Team
The successful candidate will be responsible for antibody
validation using state-of-art cell and molecular biology methods for creating
data sets to enable high quality products. This position is in the team that
performs large-scale validation of antibodies against proteins involved in chromatin
biology using state-of-art methods including western blotting, chromatin
immunoprecipitation (ChIP), RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP), protein arrays, and
other tools in epigenetic research.
Role & Responsibilities
·Successful
candidate would be responsible for planning, designing, and executing
experiments to validate specificity and functionality of antibodies against
proteins involved in chromatin biology
·Perform at high
level of proficiency in the use of cell and molecular biology methods.
Expertise in protein analysis use of gel-electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Cell lysate
preparation/western blotting and or other proteomic tools
· Interact with
multiple stakeholders/teams to understand requirement and ensure consistent
meeting of deadlines and deliverables
· Keep abreast of
latest advances in field, and provide scientific input and actively
participates in team meetings
·Delivery of high
quality results, attention to details & schedules to support program
objectives
· Recording results
into data sheets and/or electronic note books is a job requirement. Familiarity
with use of spreadsheets, retrieval of data from web/data repositories and use
word and image processing software highly desired
·
Scientific presentations to the
team & to stakeholders on a regular basis.
Candidate Requirement:
Education & Experience
levels:
Applicants should have Master’s with 1+ years’ experience
in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology.
Nature of experience:
· Project of work
experience in support of relevant skills such as publications, project reports
or thesis work
Skills:
· Sound theoretical
understanding of protein biochemistry with experience in protein expression,
protein characterization, and immunoassays.
· Basic understanding
and experience in molecular biology techniques like PCR, q-PCR, DNA and RNA
extraction, cDNA synthesis, primer design, cell-lysate preparation, and
antibody based assays like western blotting and immunoprecipitation.
· Conceptual understanding
of epigenetics with experience in molecular biology techniques for analysis of
chromatin structure and function (ChIP, RIP, IP), and gene expression
· Prior experience in
NGS and the ability to retrieve, analyze, and interpret ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and
RIP-seq data would be an advantage
· Experience with
bioinformatics tools like BLAST, pair wise or multiple sequence alignments,
primer design, and familiarity with web-based resources such as PubMed, NGS
data repositories, and other biological databases
·
Familiarity with
use of spreadsheets, retrieval of data from web/data repositories and use word
and image processing software highly desired.
·
Successful
candidate will have clear functional communication at work-place and should be
open to learn and solve new challenges.
