Main Accountabilities

  • New analytical techniques development
  • Product Design
  • Design of experiments for establishing Proof of Principle for new technologies and underpinning the science by using novel analytical tools
  • Hands on experience with wet chemistry and basic instrumentation such as GC, GC-MS, HPLC, UPLC, GCO, Microscopy, Mass spectroscopy etc.
  • Creation of product specification.
  • Identification and development of new processes routes.
  • Working with 3P PTW Labs for quantitative analysis and measurements.
  • Should know about principles of reaction chemistry, colloidal chemistry, reaction kinetics and thermodynamics.
  • Appreciation for formulation chemistry.
  • Should be willing to travel (post Covid, with all safety approvals and measures in place) for carrying out trials.
  • Should have a good grasp of data analysis and presentation with larger project context in mind.
  • Should adopt and promote occupational safety.
  • Should feel empowered to make recommendations based on ‘on the ground’ observations, judgement with data driven approach.

Key Skills/Experience/Education

Required -

  • Bachelors /master’s degree in chemistry or equivalent
  • Technical expertise in developing analytical techniques for product chemistry and formulation understanding with a proven track record.
  • Technical expertise in digital tools is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of analytical methodology development.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in analytical and advanced instrumentation, process/formulation chemistry, Exposure to beverages preferred
  • Well versed with the R&D functional excellence requirements for a product design role
  • Well versed with the new product development process and its requirement
  • Should be capable of performing analytical tests on advanced instrumentation.
  • Should be familiar with analytics and statistics.
  • Should be well versed GC, GC MS, HPLC, UPLC, Microscopy, NMR, IR spectroscopy, Light scattering, Rheological measurements etc
  • Ability to work in teams, good communication skills, good presentation skills
  • Should be a team player willing to learn and work on a new thing within the foods and beverages purview.

Desired –

  • Should be familiar with consumer testing of new products and consumer insights
  • Familiarity in clinical and claim support would be an added advantage
  • Familiarity in process design would be an added advantage
