JOB PURPOSE
The IT Innovation Project Manager role will encompass all the
project management activities associated with full project life cycle for IT
Projects. The role will work with 3rd party vendors; and be core to the
successful management of the project to ensure that the various workstreams
deliver against quality, time and budget.
Understanding the Business context, managing the relationship
with the functional stakeholder(s), bringing internal and external IT and
technology-industry knowledge to the table -
and translating that into IT plans that are realistic and value-add
which deliver Innovation which enables business growth.
The role will drive the IT vision and strategy for their area
and ensure team and individual performance to deliver the business strategy and
objectives. This includes taking responsibility for the definition,
documentation and successful completion of the projects, ensuring that
realistic project, quality and risk plans are prepared and maintained and that
a change control procedure is in place. Monitors and controls resources,
revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations
of all project stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the
project. Take responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe
execution of small to medium-scale projects, actively participating in all
phases of the project
Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes
action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that delivered
systems are implemented within these criteria.
Initiates and influences relationships with and between key
stakeholders, in business change design, management and implementation, acting
as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders and influencers.
Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project
deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets,
and are signed off. Gains agreement for revisions to the project(s) from
project sponsors.
Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring
that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.
Takes appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
Actively represents the project team, ensuring that effective relationships are
built and maintained with the business.
Identifies mechanisms by which benefits can be delivered and
measured, and plans to activate these mechanisms at the required time.
Recognises issues that may help or hinder the change and works with others to
tackle them.
ALL ABOUT YOU
Overall, several years of experience working in the IT
Industry plus solid experience as a project manager.
Business Partnering or account management experience (ideally
globally and virtually) . Proven experience in managing complex technology
implementation projects across multiple locations and geographies.
Experience in the Application Development Life Cycle
Good exposure to all IT disciplines. Deep appreciation of IT
systems landscapes and impact of architecture decisions on quality and delivery
Budget management experience
Strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
Strong relationship and team building skills
Demonstrated ability to deliver through others
Excellent financial awareness and understanding of TCO models
Structured Service delivery methodologies such as ITIL
