Junior Chemist @ SYNGENTA Master degree in Chemistry or allied science


Description

Perform analysis in the assigned areas of Analytical and product chemistry testing (analysis of intermediates, technical grade active ingredients (TGAI), raw materials, by products and formulations).

Ability to deliver experimental results within agreed timelines.

Hands-on experience on Gas chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), spectroscopic techniques and relevant instruments for the analysis.

Analytical method development and method validation.

Preference will be given to individuals having experience in Product Chemistry Formulation studies like determination of pH, density, suspensibility, surface tension, viscosity etc. and related test parameters for analysis of pesticide formulations.

Experience on initiation of storage stability studies, testing and interpretation of the results after storage.

Compile all the data obtained from testing, observations and complete report summaries, as per established SOPs.

 Perform control and maintenance of laboratory equipment as required by the department's established calibration program and GLP requirements

Maintain good work standards in the laboratory as per Good Laboratory Practices according to OECD principles and regulatory requirements.

Work as an effective team member to meet departmental goals, sharing knowledge with team members.

Be responsible and accountable for compliance with all aspects of the company's Health and Safety policies, and Safe Work Procedures.

Perform additional related duties as assigned by the line manager.

 Qualifications

A minimum of a Master degree in Chemistry or allied science, preferably analytical chemistry.

At least 2 - 3 years of experience in agrochemicals industries or CROs (GLP facilities).

Comprehensive understanding of OECD Principles of GLP regulations, safety standards and hazards associated with an analytical and product chemistry testing.

Knowledge of computerized data acquisition and analysis systems.

Knowledge of experimental skills handling and use of various analytical equipment like GC, HPLC, Spectrophotometers etc.

Computer literacy in Windows applications and the MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) package.
