KEY SKILLS
Proven technical skills within a high-pressure infrastructure
operations environment
Ability to troubleshoot and take the lead on serious
incidents. Able to work in collaboration with other teams and vendors to
resolve service quickly. Then able to review and to suggest improvements to
prevent such incidents
Good experience with Nutanix AHV, or similar infrastructure
(e.g. vSAN)
Good experience with Cohesity, or similar backup/archive
(e.g. Rubrik)
Experience of mid to large Enterprise environment with 1000s
of servers.
Experience of NetApp, VMWare, UCS or Netbackup technologies
Good working knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux/Centos
6/7/8
Able to suggest and implement pro-active improvements in
infrastructure design using the latest technology
Capacity planning and license management.
Production of technical documentation
Excellent understanding of performance analysis
Good understanding of Enterprise security principles
Good knowledge of TCP/IP, NIC teaming, and 802.1Q (VLAN
trunking)
Experience of highly-available (HA) and disaster recovery
(DR) processes
Scripting experience
Excellent communication skills to help liaise with other IT
Production teams, the rest of the business, and external suppliers.
Excellent reporting and presenting skills
DESIRABLE
NetApp ONTAP 9.x and 7-mode 8.x experience with NAS protocols
Cisco UCS Gen 1 & 2
VMWare vSphere 6.5 and later
Nimble Storage or iSCSI storage appliances
Has used ITIL-based service management tools, and is familiar
with ITIL principals.
Familiarity with Dell, HP ProLiant and Cisco UCS Hardware (or
similar)
Wider storage experience: EMC, HDS, HP, etc
Able to manage projects to design, test, deliver, and support
upgrades and new systems
