Project Officer – Species Conservation

WWF-India, one of the largest
conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the
country, invites applications for the post of Project Officer-Species Conservation, from candidates with an
inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature and environment.
The Project Officer - Species (PO -
Species) for the Terai Arc Landscape will work for implementing and monitoring
the species conservation work with special reference to tiger, co-predator, its
prey species, rhinos and elephants in the Terai Arc Landscape, especially in
the Uttar Pradesh part and assist the team in TAL-UP in all related
programmatic work as and when required. The PO will operate from the WWF-India
TAL Office, located at Kheri, and will have to travel within the landscape and
to any of the other offices within TAL-India and stay there for the duration as
required.
Qualifications
and Experience
Masters in Wildlife Science / Life Sciences / Zoology /
Botany / Forestry / Environmental Science/Forest Management with minimum of 60%
marks.
Minimum two years of experience in wildlife research/
conservation related issues.
Experience in wildlife monitoring (camera trapping, direct
count), HWC, knowledge of analytical methods/software used to monitor
terrestrial mammals is essential.
Field experience in Terai Arc Landscape is desirable
Good oral and written knowledge of English and Hindi are
imperative.
