Job Purpose (Describe briefly, why this position exists):

To support method development and analysis of in-process samples, isolated samples from BBRC CDAS projects.

Position level: 9-II

Function: BBRC PD ARD

Reports to (Designation): Principal Scientist

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities (Describe in bullet points, the duties and tasks of this position)

Experience in handling of analytical instruments like HPLC, GC, LC-MS, IC and 
Autotitrators.                                                                                              

Analysis of in-process sample and isolated sample using different analytical 
techniques.                                                              
                                             
Expertise in execution of method validations/qualifications.      
              
Excellent knowledge of cGMP, ICH and other regulatory requirements     
             
Experience in qualification of reference standard materials.  
                               
Knowledge on calibration of analytical instruments.  
                               
Exposure to internal/External audits.

Qualification & Experience:

M. Pharm/M.Sc (Analytical/Organic Chemistry)

0-5 Years

Skills:

Excellent computer skills and experience in using electronic note books and LIMS. 

Numerical and analytical ability.                                 
                                             
Ability to work in a team and willingness to work in shifts.      
                             
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Title of the project: Radicals of Heterocyclic Compounds and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) – Photochemistry and Thermochemistry Using Matrix Isolation IR and UV-Vis Spectroscopy and Computations

Name of Position: Junior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification: M.Sc in any Chemistry with GATE/CSIR-NET/JRF qualification. Candidate should be motivated to work in the areas of synthesis, spectroscopy, and computations, and equally possess the strong desire to work as a team and involve in the maintenance of the equipment.

Work description: The work involves the synthesis of precursors, obtaining the target reactive intermediates through matrix isolation in combination with spectroscopic techniques. Photochemical and pyrolysis methods will be adopted in this regard. Photochemistry and thermochemistry aspects will be studied for both target and other relevant intermediates. Computations will be carried out in understanding the stability, reactivity and mechanistic aspects as well as for spectral interpretation of various reactive species involved in the project.

Emoluments: Emoluments as per DST norms.

Number of Positions: 1

Duration: For one year (extendable up to three years).
